Organic Mint Hot Chocolate

This one goes out to all the mint chocolate lovers. On cold days, cozy up and warm up with this healthy tea-infused hot chocolate recipe.
What's in it for you:
This 5 ingredient sweet treat is infused with organic spearmint tea to help move your body into relaxation. Bonus - it adds a flavorful twist on the traditional hot cocoa recipe.
We also used coconut milk to add a rich, dairy-free creaminess, organic dark chocolate chips and raw honey. Products are linked for your convenience (but definitely use raw local honey if you can find it - in addition to the enzymes, antioxidants, vitamins and minerals, it may help prevent seasonal allergies).
What you'll need [Serves 2]:
- 1 1/2 cups filtered water
- 3 Unwind spearmint tea sachets (or 3-4 teaspoons loose leaf tea)
- 1/4 cup organic coconut milk (the kind in a can)
- 1/4 cup organic chocolate chips
- 1 tbsp local raw honey (to taste)
Directions:
- In a saucepan bring coconut milk, water, and spearmint tea to a boil
- Reduce heat and simmer for 15 minutes
- Remove from heat and remove tea bags
- Stir in chocolate chips and honey, mixing until melted
- Pour into mugs and drink up the goodness.
And if you want to make it boozy....
Add the 1 oz creme de menthe to each mug and pour the mint hot chocolate over the liqueur. Stir, then garnish as desired. Enjoy!
